After a coup d’état in 1969, Siad Barre assumed power in Somalia.
By 1990, a revolt began to spread, fueled by discontent with Barre’s regime. The country was divided, with smaller clans and tribes in the north resisting the authority of the central government based in the south. Two years later the city of Mogadishu was reduced to rubble. This is the story of Yusuf, a young boy caught in the midst of this conflict.
